Street Food Market Experience – Ticket £35
Please join us for dinner. This will be a relaxed and informal evening and has always been the ideal setting to socialise with attending delegates, course faculty, and sponsor representatives.
We’ve transformed St Mary’s Church in Nottingham’s Lace Market into a lively street food–inspired market. Guests can choose between two food trucks serving Thai cuisine and smashed burgers, alongside a vintage ice cream bike offering a range of flavours, plus a fully licensed bar.
Each ticket includes a welcome cocktail, one food choice with a side, one drink (beer, wine, or soft drink), and unlimited ice cream to finish. Guests may also purchase additional food and drinks on-site.
St Mary’s is Nottingham’s most significant medieval building and a must-visit landmark in the city. Situated in the heart of the Lace Market district, it is renowned for its stunning architecture, cultural events and concerts, and long-standing tradition of choral music.
According to local legend, Robin Hood was once arrested here by the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Rich in history, St Mary’s remains a peaceful retreat amid the bustle of modern city life. It is the city’s ancient Parish and Civic Church, with the current structure—over 500 years old—believed to be at least the third church built on this site.
The church is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and in the 12th century Nottingham was burned down three times, destroying St Mary’s along with St Peter’s and St Nicholas. All were subsequently rebuilt, and traces of the earlier Norman church can still be seen today.
Construction of the present building began in 1386 and was completed before 1475. It became the largest building in the town, serving important civic and legal functions, including the election and swearing-in of the mayor and corporation. The oldest door in Nottingham can still be found in the church’s north aisle.
